Where a person is detained or arrested by the Gardaí, free legal representation is usually available for individuals who are receiving Social Welfare payments or for those in employment whose earnings are less than €20,316 per year before tax. This scheme is known as the Garda Station Legal Advice Revised Scheme.
The Garda Station Legal Advice Revised Scheme also provides for payments to solicitors for Extension Hearings held in the District Court, where the Gardaí seek to extend the time limit for holding suspects under the Offences Against the State Acts, the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, or the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
Additionally, we can arrange for an interpreter to be present throughout the process.
